Short Curriculum Vitae
Professor Junzo Watada

IVResearch Interests

(1) Methods
His research includes theoretical and methodological fields such as developing fuzzy systems and intelligent systems for text mining, data mining, data analysis, decision support systems and experts systems, financial engineering, macro-ergonomics and so on. He works actively on Soft Computing methods which includes genetic algorithms, neural networks, chaos systems as well as fuzzy systems. Especially he contributes in developing methodologies for financial engineering and fuzzy multivariate analysis for analysis of economics and corporations.

(2) Applications
Recently, his research is more application oriented. Dr. Watada develops methodology and systems for economical analysis of information technology industries in various countries and for survey and analysis of company management. Dr. Watada has developed fuzzy production function, fuzzy AR time-series analysis and fuzzy multivariate analyses.

(3) Recent researches
In flexible manufacturing, he solve combinatorial NP complex problems using DNA computing and in biomedical systems, Dr. Watada works on DNA informatics and Kansei Engineering. Kansei Engineering is a field in which human senses and feeling are employed in design of a product and production. The method is important to build a smart comfortable space for people. Also he works on multi-camera tracking systems of car and human behaviors on a highway, a town and a building.
